AHCMC x Google Career Certificate Scholarship Program
The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County is thrilled to announce our newest partnership, Grow with Google!
With this partnership, we have officially launched our Google Career Certificate Scholarship Program to enhance the careers of artists, scholars and arts and humanities professionals/managers through providing free digital skills training and resources to those in and around Montgomery County, MD community and beyond for their own projects, to advance in their careers and goals within in those sectors and more.
We have 500 scholarships to distribute to individuals as a part of promoting the use of technology to promote, cultivate and support excellence in the arts and humanities sector.
Google Career Certificates can help individuals prepare for careers and to strengthen their skills in the following fields:
- Digital Marketing and E-Commerce
- Project Management
- User Experience (UX) Design
- Business Intelligence
- IT Support
- Data Analytics
- Cybersecurity
- IT Automation with Python
- Advanced Data Analytics
These self-paced educational programs are fully online through the Coursera platform and can be completed in three to six months of part-time study, with no experience or degree required for success.
Eligibility & Program Requirements + Details
- This program is currently available to all FY24 and FY25 AHCMC grantees (artists, scholars and arts and humanities professionals/managers) and staff starting today!
- Individuals who are 16 years old and above are eligible to apply for the program. Priority will be first given to those who work and/or reside in the Montgomery County, MD area.
- Within a month of being approved for the Coursera scholarship license, you must register, start and make progress with at least 1 course.
- The scholarship license ends on December 31, 2025. After that date, you will have to pay for Coursera access.
- You can complete as many available courses and certificates as you wish through the AHCMC x Grow with Google Scholarship Program portal before the scholarship license expires.
Program Goals & Desired Outcomes
- Support emerging & established arts and humanities leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs and workforce members in and around Montgomery County, the Washington, DC Metro area and beyond
- Strengthen and deepen the technical capacity and competencies of participants
- Providing equitable opportunities to technology education for non-traditional learners in and around Montgomery County, the Washington, DC Metro area and beyond
