Healing Artifacts

Experience personal and community healing through memory, archive, and dialogue.

The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) is pleased to celebrate the opening of Healing Artifacts with a public reception at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room on February 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Healing Artifacts features works by artists Deborah Grayson, Megan Koeppel, Ara Koh, and Sasha-Loriene McClain.

Curated by Flannery Winchester, Public Art Manager at AHCMC, this exhibition explores healing through memory, archive, and dialogue between personal and collective narratives. Through textile, mixed media, ceramics, and printmaking, Healing Artifacts invites viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness between self and community–past and present.

“Centering personal and collective care is vital in today’s social environment,” says Eleanor Choi, Chair of the Public Art Trust Steering Committee. “We are delighted to offer a space for county residents to gather, reflect, and find healing in the incredible works on display.”

Healing Artifacts will be on view 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. every Friday from February 7, 2025 – May 16, 2025. The opening reception is free and open to the public. Tickets can be reserved at: https://healingartifacts.eventbrite.com
