A Shellie Williams was spotted outside of her natural habitat (the AHCMC office), giving a presentation about AHCMC’s Arts Integration Residency Program at the third annual arts integration conference at Drew Elementary School earlier this year.
According to the MCPS Bulletin, the weekly newsletter for MCPS staff:

Educators from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. gathered for the third annual Arts Integration Conference at Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School. The event was co-sponsored by Arts Education in Maryland Schools Alliance, MCPS and the Howard and Anne Arundel county school systems. Teaching artists and classroom teachers shared information on making connections to math, science, reading and social studies through visual art, music, dance and theater.

This type of behavior is not unusual for the Shellie Williams. As Director of Marketing and Program Services at AHCMC, part of her daily activities is to manage AHCMC’s arts education programs, including the Arts Integration Residencies. From my observations, she also has a habit of creating connections with and between people and communities…and dancing like no one’s watching.
