Eric Celarier

Eric Celarier was born, lives, and works in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland in 1991 and his Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 1997.

His work has developed the theme of biological evolution associated with human impact. Exploiting garbage as a metaphor, Celarier engineers sculptures and prints from everyday caste-offs, calling attention to earth’s history of radical, biological change, change that seems to coincide with dramatic environmental shifts. As an artist, educator, reviewer, and curator, much of his work can be seen as designing opportunities that allow audiences to construct personally meaningful understandings of the world we live in.

His most immediate activities include: Biosphere, a solo show in NoMa Lobby, and Wasteland, a solo show at Honfleur in 2019, Wasteland, a solo show in NoMa Lobby, Alternative Evolution, a solo show at Artist & Makers, Finder-Maker, a group show at Honfleur Gallery, in 2017, and Trash, a solo show at VisArts in 2016.

In addition to making artwork, Celarier reviews gallery shows, having recently published in East City Art. He is active in the Washington Sculptors Group, as a member of its board, and currently helps administrate the DCAC’s Sparkplug fellowship.

Frank McCauley

Frank McCauley was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1980. Upon receiving his BFA in painting from Winthrop University in 2003, he moved north to Syracuse, NY where he attended Syracuse University and received his MFA in 2008. Frank has been the Director and Curator for Spark Contemporary Art Space in Syracuse, NY, the Assistant Director and Chief Curator for the Sumter County Gallery of Art, and is currently the Assistant Curator and Exhibitions Coordinator for VisArts in Rockville, MD. As an artist he has been in numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally and has had solo exhibitions in SC, CA, NY as well as South America.

Megan Van Wagoner

Born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Megan Van Wagoner grew up in a community filled with artists, musicians and lots of mid-west practicality. After starting out in engineering, she studied ceramics and sculpture. Her focus on mixed media sculpture and installation, along with her background in ceramics, forms the foundation of her current studio practice. Megan also curates exhibitions, and lectures about professional practices for artists. She is the recipient of a Maryland Arts Council Individual Artist Award and has exhibited widely across the eastern United States. Megan earned her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and her MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her studio is just outside Washington, DC. and she teaches at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Jenny Walton

Jenny Walton holds a BFA from Central Washington University and an MFA from American University (D.C. and Italy). Walton has shown nationally in New York, Miami, Boston, and Seattle and internationally in Italy. She was awarded an Artistic Fellowship from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities among several other grants and residencies including Vermont Studio Center, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and Hamilton Princess, Bermuda. She and has been critically published in several catalogs and articles and her work is held in several distinguished private and public collections. She lives and works in the Washington D.C. Area.
